Spa gone next year?

The Spa F1 race is under serious threat and is now listed as a provisional race on the F1 calendar b/c the Belgian gov't is bringing into effect a law the EU said would not occur until 2006 banning tobacco advertising. Max Mosely has asked the gov't to postpone the law until 2006 like the rest of EU to allow cars to continue to race at the most spectacular track on the calendar. This sucks, I love watching that race and planned on going there someday. We almost went in 98 but went to Monza instead. Glad we did b/c Coulthard caused a 17 car crash at the start on the run down to Eau Rouge red flagging the race and eliminating some right on the spot.

Good question, particularly since they go to France as well which also bans tobacco advertising. I don't recall the answer. I know one thing, I'm not going to the middle east to see a F1 race run there instead of Spa (not now anyway)
