Prodrive abandon F1 aspirations
Prodrive abandon F1 plans for now
By Jonathan Noble Thursday, January 10th 2008, 16:12 GMT
David Richards on the main stage at the 2008 Autosport ShowProdrive have all but abandoned plans to enter Formula One, in the wake of continued resistance to the introduction of customer cars.
Maybe in 2 years when Toyota fails to score any more than 2-6 points per season and the board of directors pulls the plug, Richards can buy that team!

^^ Toyota has the money, but Richards has the brain. It's extremely difficult to be successful in F1 without both money and brain. It would be perfect if they can work together -> Prodrive Toyota F1 team. But not possible with the deep-rooted Japanese culture. It's hard to imagine the biggest, oldest auto company in Japan would let a non-Japanese boss to run the F1 team. Honda, on the other hand, is more adapted for changes, which is why Honda is still the only independent Japanese auto company remaining other than Toyota.
