Actually that is correct. I remember reading somethig after Dale Sr. won the Daytona 500 that crew chiefs went to look at the car and took pics of it and studied the car. Because DEI is so good at the draft other teams were trying to find something to help them out. I think Dale Sr. could see the air.

I think him and slugger had a "decent" vibe, but after the switch last season it went all down hill. Jr even said on a post race interview last season that Michael needed to step it up. They cant be happy with his poor performances. Thats why I think mid-season till a change will be made. This will give DEI time to evaluate his situation in the 1st half.

a rookie can run either 7 or 11 (forgot which one) races before he loses his eligibility to run for rookie of the year the following year...

So if Waltrip goes out in the middle of the year, there are more than those amount of races for Truex to race in...

yeah...that's why they brought him in early to the Busch series... He would've been rookie of the year last year when he won the championship as well. But the experience paid off. I'm sure it won't stop DEI from starting him out early into the Cup series.
I hope he does better than the few times he's raced in the Cup series...

I think they will announce something during the end of season, but no changes will be made before until after the season. I still think DEI will give Waltrip a chance to redeem himself. They might need him to Junior in the Chase For The Championshp races. Remember, Talladega is one of those races and he did help Junior win Talladega during the Chase last season.

They already have two drivers in the wings waiting to take Waltrip's spot. If Waltrip is gone, then that means the #1 and #15 car will be vacant.

but I think Truex Jr. will be driving be the 2006 season. DEI is correct in keeping Truex Jr. in Busch another season. He will be driving in a few events this season in Cup.

I hope so too. The first Cup race was the one I was at last season. NHIS, this was the race where Junior started and after 63 laps they replaced him with Truex Jr. under caution. It was awesome to see them do this, because NHIS is only one mile around. The fans were going nuts when they made the switch and beat the pace car.
