Some of the Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi on track antics were also memorable. IIRC, it was all Biaggi doing the dangerous on track actions.

Lorenzo was already limping after his accident at Argon. He had a nasty crash in practice yesterday, which was probably caused by a technical issue. Check out the slow motion replay starting around 0:37. It sounded like his engine seized up just prior to the crash in the MotoGP videos. At least he can't blame this one on Marquez.

Tough break for Lorenzo. These incidents won't be good for 2019

Please post more pics. Awesome that you got to attend. It looked liked a good crowd. No yellow shirts booing at Marquez because he won, or cheering when he crashed like in Europe.

Yea I'll try to edit some pics. About to fly from Buriram to Phuket.

This place is so dead after the race.

but yea it was a nice crowd.

There were a shit ton of people.

They had a massive parking lot for all the bikes. Lots of worthy bikes.

Max Verstappen says his Formula 1 employer Red Bull forbade him from trying out a MotoGP bike, on the grounds that it would be “too dangerous”.

The 21-year-old Dutchman, who has four grand prix wins to his name and is contracted with Red Bull through 2020, has previously expressed interest in trialling premier-class grand prix motorcycle racing machinery.

Speaking to Motorsport.com's sister publication F1 Racing last year, Verstappen said: “I'd like to try MotoGP. When I was eight years old I used to race on two wheels as well as four. I really liked it.

“It was a bit more dangerous, of course, but absolutely I would like to try it.

"MotoGP is a different world but I like the feeling of getting close to the ground with your knees in the corners.”

A year on, Verstappen has revealed that he'd made the request to Red Bull – which serves as the KTM MotoGP team's title sponsor and backs a number of other teams and riders in the category – but was turned down.

“I would love to be able to race on two wheels,” he reiterated during an event organised by his personal sponsor Exact. “I'm not allowed to.

“I bought myself a Harley[-Davidson bike] and I asked the team if I could try a MotoGP bike, because Red Bull are a sponsor there as well, with KTM and Honda. And we have a track, the Red Bull Ring.

“But they firmly said no, because it’s too dangerous.”

Crossover tests between F1 and MotoGP normally go in the other direction, with Red Bull itself having arranged a Red Bull Ring test for Honda riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa earlier this year.

However, McLaren driver Fernando Alonso did trial the Honda RCV213 MotoGP bike on two occasions, during the annual Honda 'Thanks Day' in 2015 and 2016, while the Woking-based F1 team remained affiliated with the Japanese manufacturer.

Remember when Alonso did it with Honda and I think Pedrosa?

Well, when you consider how much Red Bull pays Verstappen compared to Baumgartner, yeah, he is probably expendable. Ironic though!

Man, I miss watching MotoGP.

I only watch it through Twitter and they're shady shitty streams.

I'm just not going to pay Spectrum $120 a year for it - not gonna happen.

My loss at the end of the day really....

That's like $6 a race. That's less than a movie ticket. I'd rather watch MotoGP than go to the movies.

Or you can get the MotoGP app for like $50-$60. That's a lot of money for an app, but not a lot to watch every race plus other content. And you can always stream the race to your TV if you don't want to watch it on a small screen. At least that is what I do, after AT&T ceased their partnership with BEiN Sports.

Crutchlow breaks his angle in practice at Phillip Island. Bad break, especially after finishing second at Motegi.

It looked like a fast crash. Crutchlow was doing well in qualifying up to that point.

I see KTM and Pedrosa finally made it official. He'll be one of their test riders for the next couple of years. Maybe KTM will let him race as a wildcard at least once.

Look who might race in Moto 3 next year. It would be a step down from Moto 2, but I didn't expect Fenati to return so soon.

Fenati set to make Grand Prix return in 2019 | MotoGP?

Romano Fenati will return to track action in 2019 as he teams back up with the Snipers Team, lining up alongside Tony Arbolino in their Moto3™ setup.

The Italian was sacked by the Snipers Team and had his racing license taken off him for the remainder of the 2018 season after an incident in the Moto2™ San Marino Grand Prix. Now, the 22-year-old looks likely to return to the Grand Prix paddock in the lightweight class, a category he has claimed 23 podiums in – 10 of those being race wins.

Although there is yet to be an official announcement, we can expect confirmation of the news in the near future.

It was the closest finish for the top 15 in MotoGP history. 5th place was less than 0.6 seconds back of the winner. This could be an amazing season.

Sling TV International Sport package. $10 per month you get both MotoGP and WorldSBK. If you watch both that is just over $1 per round and less than $0.50 per race.

Thanks for the suggestions dudes.

True, when you break it down it's not much at all...

My thing is that I'm a single father of two, so things are a bit tight and ATM that is not something I can justify yanno...

For now, I'll just deal with it and watch on the blue bird.

I like your priorities!

It was a great race. The result between Dovizioso and Marques was a close repeat of 2018's race, so the gap is essentially the same between the top two teams this year.

I'm really impressed with Suzuki. Their gap with the top 2 are clear, but based on the last 5 races, they seem to be able to hold their own.

What is going on with Lorenzo? He's either hot, or extremely cold.

Lorenzo broke his wrist again towards the end of January and missed the Sepang test. I don't think it is fully healed yet. To make things worse, he had a nasty high-side accident during FP3 on Saturday and ended up in the clinic.

What happened to Vinales? He had great pace in practice and started on pole.

Great ride by Crutchlow, especially considering how much he has struggled to recover from last year's Phillip Island crash.

Vinales has trouble with the Yamaha when it has a full tank of fuel, plus he was having rear grip and rear tire wear problems. Those is an issue in a one lap qualifying with a soft rear tire, so he qualifies well but doesn't race as well. Rossi has the opposite issue. They really should probably compare notes if they haven't.
