I've been going to this race religiously since 1989! It's my annual summer getaway to one of my favorite cities to see my favorite sporting event and now it's gone. Fuck!

The latest statement from some pol in Quebec is that he hopes "Formula One Management" will respect and honor Canada and Quebec's anti-tobacco legislation. Hmmmmmm, sounds like Belgium's stance right before they lost their race! Austria's gone, ditto likely San Marino. Bahrain and China have new facilities all set to go and looking for races.

The idea that governments want to tell companies that they can not advertise their COMPLETELY LEGAL product is BS and political correctness in the extreem.
Especially in the US where the feds subsidize tobacco growers so they can collect megabucks in taxes.

Used to smoke like a chimney but quit 16 years ago. Don't care what people do just as long as it doesn't interfere with my rights which I think, include, not going home from a restaurant in nice clothes and going straight to the dry cleaners the next day! I'm w/ you-it's legal to smoke so screw it, let 'em advertise. The economic impact Canada would suffer on this would be HUGE. Molson Indy (Vancouver, To. and Montreal) and Canadian GP would be hundreds of millions of dollars. I pray they don't take a hard line stance on this especially since I like going to 2/4 races listed above regularly!
