Lotus: Evora GTE news
From Supercars: http://www.supercars.net/cars/5656.html
In 2011 Lotus reenvisioned their Evora into the GTE racecar. It was made for outright endurance racing at events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The body is entirely new and constructed from carbon fibre, while the chassis is similar to the production version with a different suspension.
Cosworth was sourced to modify the Toyota 2GR-FE V6 and enlarge it to four liters. With a dry sump lubrication system Cosworth increase peak output from 345 bhp to 470 bhp. This was mated a XTrac six-speed sequential.
For the 2011 season JetAlliance Racing fielded two cars in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC) which meant stops at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1000 kms of Silverstone.
