Robb, where did you hear the $50M figure?

JV's F1 contract for 2003 with BAR is reported to be $20M, and he is quoted that he would only do something different if the money was significantly better...which $50M certainly is...

 

$50m for 2 seasons. JV's manager wanted more

 

It was on speedvision and ESPN, I can't friggin BELIEVE that he would turn that down; some agent needs to get their head fixed

 

I've attached a link to the site for the news. JV turned down an offer to race CART in 02, with a return to F1 for 03-04. The $$? Around $50M US. Not sure what he's thinking since now it will be difficult to find a team willing to take him at those kinds of $$ in F1 for the 03 season on. Not sure also if BAR will keep him either. Actually, I'm not sure what to think of the whole thing except it wld have been great to see him again in Toronto, Mid-Ohio, Cleveland and Long Beach next year (races I usually go to).

Oh well, if it's true then he would rather be a backmarker at less money just to stay in F1.
