I guess you hace to call the track for tickets. There is nothing on the glen website.
I fianlly came across my ticket and pit pass from the 92 grand national race where i thing jeff gordon won. memories.

Ok, let assume that this was set up as a "race". Also assume both drivers get a reasonable, but modest, number of practice/setup laps in each car.
Both drivers get two consecutive timed hot laps in each car. IOW - say, a warm up lap, then two "fast laps".
The times from the best hot lap in each car are added together. That's the time for that driver.
Who would have the lowest time?
I'd take Stewart any day of the week. Hamilton would beat him in the F1 car, but not by enough to make up for what he'll lose in the Stock Car.

Stewart is a racer - he can drive anything. And he's got open wheel road-course experience; admittedly not modern F1, but none-the-less. I don't think Hamilton would jump in that big, over-weight car and run very well (comparitively). Not the first time out.
Take a look at the acclimation time that JPM and the few others (Speed, Gordon, etc) who've come from open wheel and/or F1 to NASCAR the past several years. Only 1 has really made the very top tier in both: Stewart. (Unfortunatly, none have gone the other way to offer a cross comparision, which certainly could result in a similarly weak performance).
I'd really like to see them set this up as a freindly competition, instead of just a marketing exhibition.

1. Everyone's comment when they drive an F1 car for the first time is adjusting to the braking speed. Stewart's driven a couple of IRL cars, but those were only on ovals, and are nothing like the performance of an F1 car.
2. This is being done on a road course. Even if Hamilton was slower than Stewart in the CAB, based on your criteria for scoring the "winner," the amount of time that he would lose out would be miniscule compared to the time Stewart would lose in the F1 car. If the scoring methodology was different and included some oval laps, Stewart might have a chance.
3. Stewart's fat butt would result in the mechanics taking out all the ballast in the F1 car, therefore resulting in an unbalanced car for him.

Ok, you TOTALLY win point #3.
Also, correct on the oval racing. My mistake. I thought he'd run some road course races in those years.
Still, if I were betting a $20 or a couple of six-packs, I'd take Stewart. If I were betting my paycheck, well .... I wouldn't be betting.

I recall Gordon jumping into Montoya's car once & ended with Jeff only a second or so behind Montoya's best time with less than a dozen laps. I also don't think Gordon had any previous open-wheel racing history.
So, it should be interesting to see how Stewart fares behind Hamilton in the same car. Stewart will have more experience, but Lewis will also be a tad more skilled than Montoya.
In short, I think Stewart will be a lot closer to Hamilton's time in the F1, than Hamilton will be to Stewart in the stock car.

Gordon started in modifieds on dirt so he had all kinds of open wheel experience. Stewart's driven an Indycar I believe. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. I can see McLaren putting up a simulator program for Lewis to get the hang of the Cup car.

I think that was a year or two after jd mcduffie died at the end of the backstretch before the chicane was implemented.
hmm, if i go up during the week, maybe i can slip away to fulkersons and earle estates to pick up more wine.....
