Ide gets p'owned by FIA

Say ba-bye to your Superlicense Ide. The FIA pulled his license today and therefore, he will not be participating in any more F1 racing at all. Too bad, but when ya suck balls, you gotta go.

F1 is not a practice ground for inexperienced drivers.

Yuji Ide will not race for Super Aguri again this season after the 31-year-old Japanese driver’s super license was revoked by the sport’s governing body.

Former Renault test driver Franck Montagny, who stood in for Ide at the European Grand Prix last weekend after he was benched on the advice of the FIA, will keep the drive until at least the Monaco GP.

“Super Aguri confirms that the Formula One Permanent Bureau has decided to withdraw the 2006 superlicence of Yuji Ide,” read a team statement.

“Yuji will therefore not be participating in any further official FIA Formula One World Championship events this year.

“It is with sadness and regret that the team accepts this decision, however Aguri Suzuki and A.Company (Japan) shall continue to seek driving opportunities for Yuji and hopefully a path back into F1.”

Ide struggled to match team-mate Takuma Sato’s pace in the first four races of the season.

He was then given a warning after the San Marino Grand Prix for tipping Christijan Albers into a series of rolls.

It is unclear whether the team, which is backed by a number of Japanese companies – including Honda, will seek to put another home-grown driver in its second car long-term.

“Montagny will drive once again for the SAF1 Team at the forthcoming Spanish and Monaco GPs whilst discussions with a number of parties continue regarding the permanent positions of second race seat and third driver,” added the statement.
