HRT: F111 news **Revealed (page 1)**
While not actually holding a launch presentation, the HRT team has released virtual images of it's 2011 Formula 1 challenger, the F111.
The car features a bold livery design by Hollywood illustrator Daniel Simon, who has been involved in 3D work in features movies for Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios, and in the past has been involved in concept car design for VW brands, such as Bugatti.
The car only show backing from Indian driver Narain Karthikeyan's sponsor Tata.
The car is being developed by a team of engineers under technical director Geoff Willis and chief designer Paul White.
The team is reporting that the F111 will undergo its last mandatory FIA crash test this week, before participating in pre-season testing.
HRT President Jose Ramon Carabante said, "We feel really proud of the car our drivers will run this forthcoming season. Despite a challenging first year, we managed to finish on the eleventh position in the World Constructors Championship. Now, we are very pleased to introduce the first spec of the F111, which means a huge design-effort from our side. This is only a first step as we are planning several updates during the season."
Team principal Colin Kolles said, "The F111 represents a significant step forward for Hispania Racing. We have made a big improvement for starting our second season in Formula 1 and what you see in our new car confirms Hispania Racing´s commitment to F1." Colin Kolles also reveals that "the F111 will incorporate the adjustable rear wing."
German graphic designer Simon said, "Playing with the restrictions of what you can do to a complex F1 body is fun. There are many don´ts, but I found a way to lay courageous racing essence on the car."
