Ok..... So you want Honda to start winning races again? What do you think the HSV-010 GT is supposed to do?

go honda! I hope they've been lying to us about canceling the next supercar...

Honda has previously worked around that, they had the NSX-GT's, 5 were made and all 5 were "bought" by racing teams for Super GT Racing. They'll probably do the same with these two.

Who cares what they do in terms of motorsport if none of us will ever get our hands on that technology?

I so wish honda would have actually produced a actual road car.

That is very nice, very nice!!
I really wish Honda brings back NSX, more competition means other car companies has to be more competitive and produce better cars, and all this will ultimately benefits consumers...
I miss those golden days when there was a good competition amongst Toyota Supra vs Honda NSX vs Mazda Rx-7 vs Nissan Z

Wow, can't believe I missed this when I went on vacation.
I hope this car dominates over the GTR and SC in 2010.

Specs
Honda today dropped official details and additional high-res photos of its new HSV-10 GT race car, which will compete in the GT500 class of the 2010 Super GT Series.
Power comes from a 3.4L V8 making 500-hp with a maximum torque of 289 lb-ft. It is mated to a Ricardo sequential gearbox with steering wheel paddle shifters.
Makes us wish even more that the Honda / Acura NSX was a real production car.

Well, considering all of this is really for a racecar, should we just pick up these recent news and punt them into Motorsports?

Does any one know, is this V8 the same one they were using in the IRL series?

Not sure about the IRL series, but I heard that its the same motor as the ALM series thats powering the Acura ARKMFDSBNFREFMLEMFLNN-whatever the f*ck they call it.

It's my understanding that the HSV, F-N, ARX, and IRL engines all share the same architecture.

Big Block go VROOOM!
I can't vouch for the F-N and IRL motors, but the ALMS P2 V8 was the same 3.4L displacement so that makes sense as the baseline for the HSV's power plant.
Since I highly doubt the motor is used as a stressed member in the HSV, you would think it wouldn't be that hard to shore up the bottom end for more revs than the motor package sees in other formulas. Of course, the top end aways seems to be where the real difficulty lies with high RPM. Anyone know if the SuperGT series has a rev limit imposed?

Will the motor fit in my CL?

The motor looks like it was derived from Honda's IRL race engine with it's front stress member mounting holes (two in lower crankcase, four in the heads).
