I get the $ aspect from F1's perspective to have a group launch that fans pay to attend.
But, I like the individual launches where you get some insight from the team/drivers on the car.
We'll see how this big event goes. I'll catch the highlights after, likely.
Sauber: Better looking, but still a bit meh
Williams: Similar, not bad
VCARB: Still a dumb name, but a better looking car
And now a break for a musical guest....
Haas: Looks good in white
Alpine: Lots of pink, too long of an intro, but looks decent
Aston: Another overly long intro, car not much different to last year, bit more white & black.
Mercedes: Not much different. No more red airbox/star for Niki The 'pitstop' was silly, too.
RBR: Identical, as expected. Also used up all their time with the intro, no interview with CH or the drivers.
Ferrari: Nice Enzo tribute. Best looking so far, apart from the HP stripe on the airbox,
McLaren: Best reveal. that was great, awesome seeing the former champion cars on stage, hopefully a good omen to Lando having a shot at the WDC this year. Car not much different looking to last year.
We'll see if all of these make it to the grid in Australia. Not nearly as much black/exposed carbon, especially on the VCARB. Hopefully we get more color this year.
IMO this is the only proper way to introduce a new F1 car before the season
Autospeed 68 national exhibition held at The Royal Horticultural Halls Greycoat St London OPS Bunny girl Anne Worral with the F1 Eagle Weslake 3000 car and a car made from 59 magnesium wheels
Carlos Sainz has been announced as a new director at the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association (GPDA), with the Spaniard stepping into the role vacated by former F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel.
Following Vettel’s exit from the post last year after retiring from the sport at the end of 2022, Sainz will join the GPDA alongside fellow driver George Russell, chairman Alexander Wurz and GPDA leader Anastasia Fowle.
I saw something about Ineos backing their involvement, hence the lack of red on the airbox.
The Ferrari isn't bad, but the HP logo looks out of place on the engine cover.
RB probably has the best overall. Everyone else is the same/mostly the same as last year.
I saw something about Ineos backing their involvement, hence the lack of red on the airbox.
The Telegraph newspaper reports that Toto Wolff was at odds with fellow one-third team owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder and CEO of the chemicals company, last year.
Correspondent Tom Cary said they came close to splitting.
The revelation comes hot on the heels of the public debut of Mercedes' new livery for 2025 - with Ineos branding now very difficult to spot.
Blick newspaper correspondent Roger Benoit, one of the most respected journalists in the Formula 1 paddock, is similarly reporting that Ineos is said to have a mountain of debt amounting to several billion.
A team spokesperson, however, insists that Mercedes' relationship with Ineos is ongoing and stable, and that the partnership is not in question.
But there is no denying that the red airbox 'Ineos' branding that was still present on Mercedes' 2024 car for Lewis Hamilton's final race for the team in Abu Dhabi last year is now completely blank and painted grey on the '25 livery.
Ineos and Ratcliffe, 72, are yet to comment.
Jim Ratcliffe's business and sports empire seems to be imploding.
Abbie Eaton on women in F1.
I recall Susie Wolff saying similar when she was a test/reserve for Williams. She wasn't bad in FP1, but likely not enough to have been competitive over a race distance
A couple spins as they started pushing a bit more, but nothing overly exciting to see in Day 1, Session 1.
Haven't watched 2nd half yet, not bad background noise while working. Mostly listening to the commentary & flipping over for video when something noteworthy-sounding is mentioned.
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved proposals for a mandatory two-stop strategy to be implemented at the Monaco Grand Prix.
It comes following a meeting between stakeholders on Wednesday, coinciding with the start of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit.
The change, which will apply to both wet and dry races, has been pushed through “with the primary intent of improving the sporting spectacle” of the event.
Drivers will now be required to use at least three sets of tyres in the race, with a minimum of two different tyre compounds to be used if conditions are dry.
^ And to show Eddie Jordan was still in this spirit of car launches in 2004
I couldn't agree more!
But if Liberty Media wants to grow the audience by capturing the female crowd (or just anyone who likes such bodies) then they should do this, too.
Don't ban grid girls; just add some grid boys (beau hunks)!!!
And if F1's worried about male homosexuality (i.e., homophobic), they can just market the muscley-men as members of a fantasy "pit crew" or as "mechanics."
It has been confirmed that the Cadillac Formula 1 Team have received final approval to join the sport, with the team – who are backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM) – set to be part of the F1 grid in 2026.
Today, the FIA and Formula One Management announced that the Cadillac Formula 1 Team have met their requirements to join the existing 10 teams starting next year.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said: “As we said in November, the commitment by General Motors to bring a Cadillac team to Formula 1 was an important and positive demonstration of the evolution of our sport.
"I want to thank GM and TWG Motorsports for their constructive engagement over many months and look forward to welcoming the team on the grid from 2026 for what will be another exciting year for Formula 1.”
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem added: “Today marks a transformative moment, and I am proud to lead the Federation in this progressive step for the championship. The FIA Formula One Championship's expansion to an 11th team in 2026 is a milestone. GM/Cadillac brings fresh energy, aligning with the new FIA 2026 regulations and ushering in an exciting era for the sport.
“The Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s presence in the paddock will inspire future competitors and fans. Their entry strengthens our mission to push motorsport’s boundaries at the highest level.”
Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports, said: "For the past year, we have worked hand in hand with GM, to lay a robust foundation for an extraordinary Formula 1 entry.
“Now, with 2026 in our sights after today’s final approval from the FIA and Formula One Management, we’re accelerating our efforts—expanding our facilities, refining cutting-edge technologies, and continuing to assemble top-tier talent.”
GM President Mark Reuss commented: “We’re thrilled the Cadillac Formula 1 Team is official, as the team has been accelerating its work.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from the FIA and Formula One Management leadership for us and for our partners at TWG. The excitement only grows as we get closer to showcasing GM’s engineering expertise on the prestigious global stage of F1.”
The announcement comes after appointments were confirmed across recent months, including former Marussia Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon joining as Team Principal and industry veteran Russ O’Blenes becoming CEO of TWG GM Performance Power Units, which will contribute towards Cadillac becoming a “full works” team by the end of the decade.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the effort put in thus far by the entire Cadillac Formula 1 team," said Lowdon. "This announcement is the next step in getting on the grid and continued work toward building a full-works team.
"Through the long and thorough application process, we never lost pace in planning or belief in our mission. We can’t wait to go racing and give fans a new team to cheer for."
O’Blenes added: “Ongoing preparation and development of our power unit continues, and we’ve been working hard to hire some top tier talent. As we continue to add more experienced engineering personnel, we look forward to running our first V6 in the near future.”
The Cadillac outfit – which has bases in Fishers, Indiana; Charlotte, North Carolina; Warren, Michigan; and Silverstone, England – have assembled a team of over 200 people working on aerodynamics, chassis and component development, software and vehicle dynamics simulation since the squad's bid to enter Formula 1 was announced, with development work continuing at pace ahead of joining the grid in 2026.
Now the pieces start moving to fill those 2 seats.
Assumption would say an American driver gets 1 seat, maybe promotion from Indy. IIRC, Colton Herta was the favorite last season when all this was brewing.
Bottas seems to be favored for the 2nd seat, if they want an experienced driver alongside a rookie.

Multiview was something I thought would make a neat addition. Keep the livestream & add in some of the map tracker & onboards.
Might give this a look, depending on the cost increase over the basic F1TV plan, and as long as they don't reduce what the base plan gets.
Edit: F1TV is $90/yr and the new premium tier is $130/yr.
If they have a trial, I'll give it a shot before pulling the trigger on it, assuming it's Roku compatible.

Yeah it's Roku compatible, just not Android yet
Just upgraded from Pro to Premium in time for the races next week!
If you get a chance to play with the new interface, before FP1 on Friday, I'd be interested to see how it looks & what setups are possible with the multiview.
Watching the 2004 Brazilian GP right now. Just 9 more years & I'll have caught it all from 1970-Current
