Anthoine Hubert remembered

Pierre Gasly has paid tribute to his close friend Anthoine Hubert every year since his tragic accident at Spa in 2019

Crazy it's been that long, feels like it hasn't been 6 years.

Not as good as the regular one, but not bad.

I'm guessing Elkann is more interested in Hamilton than Horner.

It's probably that Ferrari didn't want to pay Horner's fee. Horner's package has got to be much higher than what they are paying Vassuer.

Or perhaps the rumors of Horner and Briatore buying Alpine are accurate and Horner has no interest in the Ferrari job.

That's a possibility. I don't think Horner would ever move to Italy, unless they gave him a gazillion $.

Aston Martin F1 was just sold this week. Maybe Horner bought it.

I wonder if RB will now give him the leash to race in other series.

Agreed. Who know who will have the best car next year. He'll be able to jump after seeing the field.

Zak Brown claims F1 “in a better place” without Christian Horner

I dislike Brown, Horner, and of course Marko but this was kinda unexpected.

Never been a fan of Brown. He always seemed to be a complainer. I like the team and the drivers but have never had any use for Zak.

Brian Tyler's composition is iconic, I LOVE me some Hans Zimmer but the original is better for now..

I'm game for the top comment's suggestion however:
This music could be used to introduce track maps, stats, car tech, crew, track conditions, and multi angle replays.

What's behind Hamilton's Ferrari brake struggle - and how to fix it

https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/w...ow-to-fix-it/#

“Lewis is extremely reactive when he starts to brake; he then often exceeds the tyre grip limits and only then, after exerting peak pressure on the pedal, begins to control the action of the braking system.

“[He] wants perfect control when entering a corner, often releasing the throttle once in the turn. In fact, the first part of the braking ends at the entry, thus reducing the footprint and increasing the ease of internal front wheel locking.

“The only limit that Hamilton knows, according to engineers he works with, is the maximum temperature of brakes.”

Hamilton's style, of wanting that strong initial bite before modulating the brake pedal to keep himself under the threshold that risks front locking, worked so well with Carbone Industrie characteristics.

It is widely understood that Carbone Industrie’s pad/disc combination has a very strong initial bite when hot – perfect for that initial phase where Hamilton stamped on the pedal.

This feel comes from a characteristic where it appears to offer peak grip at higher temperatures.

Seeing more & more reports that it's going to be Bottas/Perez at Cadillac for '26.
Nothing official yet, but haven't seen many reports to the contrary yet.

Valtteri back on the grid!!!

Just hope he ditches the 'stache and the mullet, which IMHO isn't really his look.

But whatevs. Just curious to see what he can do and how he might be able to help Cadillac/Andretti develop as a rookie outfit.

The ‘stache is okay, but he should definitely lose the mullet. Obviously his choice and maybe it will have some extra luck for Cadillac in their debut season.

Two 35 year olds....

I didn't want an 11th team just so F1 would keep old timers in the sport. I wanted an 11th team to help new drivers get more chances to move into F1.

I get the idea to bring in 2 experienced drivers to develop the car in the infancy years, especially with new regulations for '26.
Get the car set up & competitive, then bring fresh blood into the team.

I guess we'll have to keep an eye on who they have as reserve & young driver options to know what the future might hold.

There are plenty of other "experienced" drivers that aren't 35 that need a second chance. Some of the reserve drivers can easily fill that role.

, totally agree the sport needs newer drivers than a couple of #2 drivers with 250+ GP and 8 wins or less/

Do either/both Checo or/and Valtteri have a point to prove? How much will their being in similar machinery fuel competition between them? And WTF will the '26 regs hold in store?? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think they both just want to race, has to be killing VB to sit in the garage as the 2 Silver Arrows roll out every weekend.
Saw a video that mentioned that they're the 2 most experienced free agents on the grid, so it made some sense to get drivers that won't need as much of a learning curve as a newer/rookie would need.

They have both won all they can. They've been given the best machines and won races. They know that they won't win races in 2026, and they also know that no other top team will ever call their number for a permanent seat. So it's really just going through the paces. Which is why I'd rather see new blood.

That's a fair point, but as a new team, would you rather 2 experienced drivers that can give genuine feedback on setting up a new car, or 2 rookies that try to do that while learning the ropes of F1?
I'd bet that VB/SP get 2 maybe 3 years to get the team established then whichever is performing worse gets dropped for a rookie/young driver with the other following the next year, unless they pull a Brawn 2009 or Mercedes 2014 out of the hat.

Why would you think that was a remote possibility? Big money wants results yesterday, that would never come with unproven rookies' opinions but will with these two-one who is naturally quick and one who is naturally good with tires.

We know these two's ceilings, which aren't that great. I think other drivers in their 20's can do an equally good job, but with potentially higher ceilings.

Obv the hierarchy at Caddy/Andretti disagree. But whatchya gonna do??

Their reasoning seems, well . . . reasonable, as does the fans' wish to see some young guns on the grid.
