Damon Hill’s fall from grace at Williams

Pretty interesting read about behind the scenes at Williams with Hill in the mid 90's. Not a great driver but still a WDC and was a sportsman and gentleman. One of the rare WDC's who's also a nice guy.
I read somewhere he was so liked at Williams that when he left Williams, people at Williams got together and bought him a new motorcycle since his contract at Williams forbid him to ride one. Hill rode motorcycles and in his 20's rode as a motorcycle delivery man in London.

Great article, thanks! Unfortunately, another casualty of Damon's sacking by Williams was the loss of Newey when he left because in part, he was ticked Williams acted the way they did towards Hill.

^ so true, Newey has said that while at Williams his best car test/development driver was Hill. Newey also liked Couldhard as well, but didn't care for Mansell.
another article, also good read
