Haha I had a similar thought earlier about it being great/fitting it's you and me at the end of the season FTW. I'm doing alright,... figuring life out moreso as I approach my 40s haha. Shit, I've been meaning to drop you a line for like a month now honestly. I'll drop you a msg/pm, and another thread msg later too about Alonso's R25 runs this weekend.

Watching the R25 rip around this weekend sent me back/made me think about how convinced me to go to my first GP in Montreal many years ago. I scraped together all the money I had/could get (broke university student/finishing university), and I made the trip down for the weekend. I'll never forget the first time I heard, then saw an F1 car on track. Luckily for me it was still the V10 era, so I got to experience that V10 wail/scream in person. Absolutely incredible. I think it was the last year of the V10's, which would mean it was the R25 on track that weekend. Scott and I met up and had a great time hanigng out, and over the years/many GPs we became great friends and experienced some crazy stuff at the track. Kubica and Hamilton's first wins, ridiculous weather,....rain/thunder storms,....shudder,....that insane crash at the hairpin Kubica had. And lots of good racing in general, since the Canadian GP is usually a good race. Good food, good surroundings, good racing, and good friends (Scott, his brother, other people) in Montreal every time. Glad you convinced me to go Scott.

Yup, definitely great times for sure Steve though that Button win in the pouring rain was kind of a bummer. Especially since we had already left after getting soaked to the bone. I miss the days of V8's/10's/12's. Nothing like hearing a screaming F1 engine in downtown Montreal 1 mile away or so from the track.

icy2 takes the final race of the year with a convincing victory. Everyone else will have to lick their wounds over the cold winter, while icy2 will enjoy the sweet taste of victory for the next three months.

Commentators (Sky) knew about it, made mention of it a few times in the race.

God that was the most uncomfortable/miserable bus ride back to Toronto. Soggy wet feet on a bus with aircon blasting for like 6 hrs. My Kimi Ferrari shirt also got ruined because it sat wet in a bag for like 7 or 8 hrs,.... and the red bled into the white, making the shirt pink. Awesome Jenson ended up winning that race, although @*$)$*@)$@ we'd left by that point. Yeah, nothing quite like those older screaming engines.
