^ Vettel is on a different strategy, he went out with Hard compounds for his last quali lap, he could be fueled to go one stop or something like that.

They don't have fuel stops anymore, but I know what you're getting at. I didn't see that SV had run the harder compound until after I posted, so hopefully that mitigates the quali time a bit.

As far as the race, we'll see. Starting in front on lap 1 in F1 seems a major advantage.

totally forgot about the re-fueling ban. Anyhow it should be an interesting start, they are calling for rain so that could change things pretty quick.

if its raining you would wanna start on the soft tires cause once they pull out the intermediates there's no point of reverting to the other compound tires

I knew what you were getting at though. Starting on the harder compound he might go for, say, a 2 stop race instead of a 3 stop race.



I thought if it's raining at the start everyone can start on wets, no harm, no foul?

yea you can switch to wets before the race if its raining. But my point is, as long as it rains at any point in the race Vettel's strategy is useless. Soft tires are faster. And if its gonna rain then you never need to put on the hard tires

What do the rules say if the track goes Dry - Wet - Dry during the race? Do you still have to run both compounds sometime during the dry parts of the race?

Or is it set up so that if at any time the track is declared wet, the two compound rule goes out the window?

If it is raining an wet tires are used, then you don't have to use both compounds iirc. So two compound rule out the window if wet.

yea something is wrong with hamilton he is amazing during quali, but he just doesnt have it during the race!!

And wtf how much bad luck do i have to have!!! Something happened to the mercedes cars!! had too!! and vettel with the flat!
