You've got one stock to own....

I never gave a reason for my pick... Basically, as mortgages go up in default and people scramble to sell off their crap, EBAY is a natural destination for them. As more people unload more and more crap - in direct correlation to the current and future housing woes - revenue for EBAY increases.

I hate how I act too quick..
GME is around $58... I bought it at $49.. sold at $51 because it was "going down" I would have been up $9/10 a share!! I hate myself for even checking the current price..

Yeah I know. The reason I sold is because the CEO exercised 26k stock options, so I thought it was going to take a dive.. it went from 51 (where I sold it) back to 48, but now it is back up to 58-60.

VMW going to 100 easy. I made that call in the 60s, not here though. You will see another selloff and it will pull into 70s again.
EMC owns 87% of VMW therefore a great play there, although had a decent run in the last few weeks from high 18s into low 21s.

GS 239.50 in after hours, all time high. If anyone paid attention to my post about the technical analysis/chart of GS it fell straight through the 190 support line and bottomed around 165 right above the 150 support line. It reversed on one day with 2x normal volume marking the bottom. 170 to now 239.
buying financials a month or two ago in subprime/credit crunch is very risky but if you stick to the support/resistance lines and see a clear reversal with 2x normal volume in 1 day, you know a bottom is in and that's exactly what happened with GS.
also, its good to buy best of breed in a given sector and GS is exactly that, so I almost consider it less risky than other financials. I wouldn't have even considered playing any others in the sector. GS just dominates them and you can't fight that.

I would recommend DRYS, CEA, ZNH, TAP already happened, AAPL, LVS or WYNN, NM. WFMI i like and have played but i'm having troubles evaluating it going into this week. and i would long NOK and short MOT. DRYS and NM are both dry goods shippers which have basically booked all there charters for the year. Im also thinking either Fedex or UPS going into the holiday season as the Canadian dollar is at par so i think online retail sales will be up from the likes of Amazon and ebay going into xmas. what do you guys think?

I am back again, doing my bi-monthly check in.
Are you guys feeling the pain yet?
I am in cash, looking for ideas. Can't play financials, can't play housing, can't be in retail, tech has high valuations, for the most part. GOOG, AAPL, RIMM and GRMN are all wack as is GME. VMW is coming back to reality but has some more to go down. Forget china including BIDU, forget dry shippers ala DRYS, EXM, QMAR, cycle is turning against them. I think all you can really do is go consumer staples and maybe healthcare, but not biotech.

Bought Diana last week at 27 and sold today at 34. Still holding a position there as well as GME. Should have unloaded more VMW over $100 but I think it will revisit that again this year.

I'm not so sure about VMW. I rode that one up on the hype and sold most of it below peak, but above where it sits now. I'm not a huge tech guy but I know that those who are say VMW will make boatloads of money for years to come. I'm not afraid of hype, but the PE of 184 is distrubing.
