Need to make 5k over the summer...
Any ideas? I'm taking alot of classes, so I can't exactly work 40 hours a week, and even if I did I wouldn't make 5k!

I was actually gonna make a thread about it today. I'm actually doing a bodybuilding show down in ft. lauderdale in about 6 weeks. I'm at 6.5% bf, I'm looking freaky!
How much do they make? I was thinking about doing it, cause I cant really work during the fall and I need to make as much money as possible over the summer so I can move out in the fall. I need atleast 5k...I'm thinking maybe I could charge 40/hr as a personal trainer? I have the looks...Just don't have any credentials yet.

Personal trainers amke okay money, not 5k though. Its like 10 an hour plus 20 per visit by the member. I did it for a while, the hours get long as soon as you get more clients. It was fun though and I got a free membership to golds gym. Your best bet to make that kind of money is to find a very nice resturant and be a waiter. You can make that money if you save!

How about just becoming a bank teller? Then just quit at the end of summer. Don't tell them you're going to do that, but banks are used to high turnover rates with their tellers. It's a very easy job and only gets busy at the end of the week.
It's not 5k, but I think you can get 3k easily doing part-time.

Go do a couple clinical research studies for a local lab. A couple of those will get you pretty close. The major lab in Austin pays about a grand for 5 days of inpatient study. You just have to agree to be a lab rat and have your vitals checked about 10 times a day.

Otherwise; try holding two jobs down as waiters @ decent restaurants. Not the most glamorous job, but if you're @ a decently busy place you can really make some quick cash for relatively menial and low difficulty (but stressful @ times) work.
Of if you got some time, pick up a bartender's license and find a good bar to work @ =P
