MBNA Sucks, well kinda...

Alright, a few days ago I had a payment due 7/18/05... So I scheduled one online a few days before and it would only let me make it for 7/19/05

I call up to make sure that it's not going to count as late...The lady tells me it will count as a late payment, and I will get a 35.00 fee, so we went through and placed a phone payment (15.00 charge) and she said it would post that same night. Anyways the next day, I didnt see it go through (after I canceled my online payment) and talked to a different Rep. She told me there is a 1 day grace period and my online payment was fine as is. So I said "Why the hell did she tell me to do over the phone then for a 15.00 charge?" She's like well she lied to you to make commision. "Oh great fucking CC company I have" She said she would credit me back for the 15.00 charge and go through with the payment and apologized.

Anyways my statement was 375.00 so I paid 400.00 to make up for the 15.00 fee because I dont want to use them anymore. So I had a 15.00 CR (credit) on my account as of 2 days ago. After I spend that 15.00, I was gonna just hide the card in a drawer and not use it anymore.

I logged in today....

Current Balance: $40.94 CR

What the hell? Was this a mistake? Or was this like a comp for being treated like a moron on the phone?

Just learn to take these little gems of errors in your favor. Buy yourself an extra grande coffee or buy your gf some flowers.

I've never paid one late fee in my life to a credit card company. I give them enough business where they always credit back my late fee if I get one. I usually never pay late and it happens maybe once ever few years but I still ask for it back and they give it back with no question.

if you paid your bill on time you wouldn't have faced this issue to begin with.

It wasn't late... I had it sent to pay 1 day after due date and that's not considered late, usually I pay it a week ahead of time...

And I paid it online days before there thing takes forever to process, bank of america i can pay online the same day

Don't hide the card in the drawer and not use it anymore. If you don't wanna use it, cancel the acct and cut it up. No sense having accounts open that you don't use, just another target for identity thieves.

MBNA is run by morons - we HAD a money market with them and cancelled it because they could NEVER get our address right and kept my wife's parents on our account after repeatedly telling them to remove them.

I've had two MBNA (one personal, one business) cards for about 10 years now. The service has always been fine. I've never had a negative issue with them.

I've had MBNA for the past 7 years.....never been an issue at all. The 1 or 2 times I paid late, they removed the charge no questioned asked.
