first time trading and online trading with no minimum.
any suggestions?
also, when a company says that it will cost XX.XX per trade does that mean per share that a buy?
eg. 4 dollars per trade and i buy 10 shares of goog does that mean they will charge me 40 dollars?

I've been with TDAmertrade for a long time. I have no issues with them. They are $9.99 a trade.
Doesn't matter if you buy 1 or 1000 shares its $9.99.
Do yourself a favor and make sure your "house" is in order before you start buying stock. By that I mean you should have your credit cards paid off and have 6 months worth of cash in a high yield savings account.
Get some books that teach you about money.
Doesn't expect to make money in the stock market right away. Just about everyone I know starts out losing money.
