got this from yahoo answers:
The schedule only applies to certain people. It does not apply to you IF:
1. Your return was not processed by April 15th
2. You used a tax program/tax service and paid your fee out of your refund
supposedly if either of those are true, then you get a paper check.
i couldn't find a solid link. can anybody confirm this?

For instance, one common question is: "I filed after April 15 and the payment date for my Social Security number has passed. How long will it take for me to get my stimulus payment?" The answer: In general, it will take at least six weeks after you file your return to get your stimulus payment, the IRS said.
Or, maybe you filed on time and are wondering why your payment is not yet in your bank account, even though your Social Security number should put you in the early group of payment recipients?
The answer: The payment schedule only applies if the IRS finished processing your return before April 15. If you filed your return on time, but close to the April 15 deadline, the IRS may not have finished processing it before April 15.
Note that if you're expecting a regular income-tax refund, you'll get that first and your stimulus payment should follow one to two weeks later. If you are not expecting a regular tax refund, your stimulus payment won't arrive for at least six weeks after you file, the IRS said.
Also, if you chose direct deposit and requested a refund anticipation loan or had your refund deposited into more than one account, you will receive a paper check based on the distribution schedule for paper checks.

i filed via turbo tax online.
i filed a few days before the 15th.
i didn't get a refund so i didn't pay the TT fees out of the refund. i paid out of my checking account, and i still haven't gotten mine.

So there's something I dont get....I was discussing the stimulus check with my friend. He said he got $400 something. I think he makes more than $75K and for sure he's not marry. He said that it's pro-rated after you make $75K. I'm like what the hell, that's not what the IRS requirement said. He's like, well how did I get the money then? I'm thinking that he got his tax refund and mistaken it for stimulus check? Beside, I dont think anyone here actually got a paper check for the stimulus payment yet?

so far, only direct deposits have gone out.
but if his AGI is more than 75k, then he could still get a portion.
the IRS does say you're eligible to receive up to $600.
