Dow is now below 8,000

To think a year ago it was around 14,000.

In the 1987 crash it made it up within 2 years. How long do you think its going to be this time? Hopefully less but I wouldn't bet on it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanes...t_price_bubble anyone see the correlation, and their govt did the same thing by propping up companies that were failures (zombie companies), in the sake of jobs. Lost Decade 2 anyone? Economists still haven't figured out the full extent of what happened in Japan either. Anyone see any differences between then and now?

I don't do red anymore. I figure people can tell what is sarcasm.

Although - my mom is visiting her mom in TN and there are a fair amount of people who blame the market on Obama. But that is TN.

When it comes to politics, it's sometimes hard to spot the sarcasm.

And tell your mom that she should take a close look at what Paulson did yesterday.

I don't see how anyone could imagine Obama and his administration being any less socialist with their bailouts.

I don't know whether to get out know with my education account or wait until May (when I have to use it by) with the hopes that it will have gone up a tiny bit.

With this market, just wait until after it closes-- it's just unpredictable.

poor jobs reports really dragged the markets down the first half. I have a feeling a LOT of people placed some limit orders if the dow were to hit near 8000 and when the orders went through, that boosted everything up. let's wait until another negative non-farm payroll the first friday in December and see where it's at then.

I have been reading blogs elsewhere that the DOW will go down to 5000-6000 levels. Seeing the DOW go down to 7000 level for a short time really makes you wonder that these bloggers were right.
