Other U.S. companies will take hit to earnings because of China slowdown, White House economist predicts
Jan 3, 2019
Other U.S. companies besides Apple Inc. are likely to take a hit to earnings because of the slowdown in China, said White House chief economist Kevin Hassett, on Thursday. "It is not just going to be Apple, I think there are a heck of a lot of U.S. companies that have a lot of sales in China that are basically going to be watching their earnings be downgraded next year until we get a deal with China," Hassett said.
Hassett said the Chinese economy is feeling the blow of U.S. trade tariffs. China "is slowing in a way that I haven't seen really in more than a decade and that is going to be bad for profits for U.S. firms that sell things in China."

Don't look now, but within 3.5% of all time high
Color me surprised that "news" of "progress" in trade talks caused a ~450 pt surge. This isn't even a done deal yet. Is this market going to explode if a deal is announced?

Does anyone believe there are checks and balances in place when Trump's tweets immediately impact the market?

depending upon what your "investments" are, one has to think of the long term. Even if stocks, for instance, take a 20% dip, within a year or two they will be back and going higher- provided, of course, one has the correct mix, i.e. diversified, of quality investments.

Maybe appointing Pence to oversee the Corona virus outbreak response after what happened to Indiana with HIV wasn't best idea? Maybe appoint someone who accepts the reality of science?

Remember....sell high and buy low. Such a simple simple concept but SO hard for the majority of people to implement. I just heard on radio on my way back from work that some people were panic calling their money managers about whether they need to sell their stocks....smh....

lmao the day after I put a few more thousand in--the next fking day--they tumble like this Figures. I sold off all shares of one of my index funds. It was 100% stocks. I didn't sell it so much because of the dip, but just wasn't giving me the dividends I wanted.
Tryna figure out what to buy now, tho
