BUY, BUY, Before it's too late!!

Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI). It has gone up $.35 in the last 3 days, and climbing. Voted to outperform current estimates. Competitor to XM Satellite Radio. XM stock used to $1.73 a share. Now valued at $30.00 a share.

i think it's a risk.

I really wanted to buy sirius when everyone thought they were going to go under (never got around to it though...). I had sirius and its much better than XM. No commericials and much better music. They have the best hip hop stations...with tons of well respected bands/dj's doing the shows. As opposed to XM which had a bunch of poppy crap.

Only reason XM got ahead in the beginning is because GM signed a deal with them...which gave them such a huge advantage with XM factory installed in so many vehicles. I think the quality of Sirius will win the end though.

Basically...yeah buy Sirius.

Sirius has 1 satellite -- XM has 2. I'd bet on XM in the long-run. I think an investment in Sirius is throwing away your money..

You should do some research. Sirius has 4 satellites in the atmosphere right now.

I know, it went from $3.30 to over 4.00 in just over a week. Better be ready for the stock holders meeting in May.

Ha i looks like i was the one that got in the earliest. I got in around $.70 i believe, but let go around $2.50. Played around with it, and lost some and let go of it never went back. Its probably a good semi long term investment.

For you folks who likes some action and volitility for short term, u should really check out VWPT. I have mentioned it before but no one really cared. Anyways, go download the viewpoint toolbar, it shows graphics when you do search.

there were several LARGE deals that XM made, like with honda. xm radios come in a significant amount of cars standard, which just raises the odds that they'll get subscribers. does sirius have anything like that going for them?

Sirius is an option in some cars as well (infiniti so I assume nissan offers as well). I think XM has more offers like that however.

Dunno about Nissan but you can have it on an Infiniti, or you can pick XM too, just buy the proper adapter and go.

Which is the first company to have personal players? I've seen the Elton John commercial that mentioned this Christmas for availability. I don't remember which network though.

If somehow mp3 players were to be integrated with satellite radio, with the ability to record (like satellite tivo), that would be an interesting scenario. On the go anywhere, work, gym, car, travel and home.

First off, let me just say I told you so. Now that that's been said, if I hadn't gotten scared and sold when the stock went from $4.20 down to 2-3 something I would have like 1,100 bshares right now instead of 350.......... oh well, lesson learned. Now, the shares have gone through the roof pretty much since Howard Stern announced he will be switching, and sooner than expected. I am hoping the stock will go back down to around 5.00 a share so I can sell now and get more cheaper.....do I think it will happen, prob not, maybe 6.00 If we are lucky. However, this stock within a few years will be relative to XM-Sat radio shares, so in my opinion it is still a bargain. XM shares have gone up almost $10.00 a share in the last 9 months. I am going to keep a close eye on SIRI though, I'm not sure it is through leveling out..........2 weeks ago it was still $5 something, now it's almost 8.

Sounds like someone missed the boat

Just kidding. I think that it will continue to rise and at least match what XM's price is in the next year or 2 (more than likely 2 yrs). Decent shorter term investment.

With only 2 companies out there providing this service there really isn't too much competition. What's the worst that can happen? It tanks, and then gets bought out by XM...

Win-win in my book.

Oh, and did I mention that there were only 2 frequencies sold and there won't be anymore being sold anytime soon?

Don't forget, Mel Karmazin was named CEO of SIRI

Mr. Karmazin, who served as President and CEO of Viacom until earlier this year, said, "This is a perfect opportunity for me because I want to lead a growth company that can reshape the landscape of the radio business. I took Infinity Broadcasting and Westwood One to leadership positions in the industry and am confident that SIRIUS will become a market leader in short order. I will inherit a first-class management group led by co-presidents Scott Greenstein and James Meyer. I look forward to working closely with Joe Clayton and the strong team that he has assembled."

Shit, the way it is going, yes........I am watching this one closely.......what goes up must come down eventually, and hopefully I will be able to catch it when it starts to go down some, sell, and get more cheaper. It closed @ 9.00, where this thing stops I do not know.

it will go back up. Bear Stearns and I think Solomon called it overpriced and emotions and bargain seekers drove it down for a bit.
