Is this a good idea? It's $5.99/month...Or is there any other sites that offer a similar service for less? I'm really into my credit, and kind have a fascination with scores, etc.
Also is it ok to have something showing me my credit report everyday (leaving it open) in terms of effecting my credit...

I don't think it's worth it.
If you are really into your credit score, you want a 3 bureau credit report
They can be quite different sometimes. For me, TransUnion has the most nonsense (it lists me as working for THOUMTER ASSOCIATES (?!?!)
I usually get one every year or so, make sure there's nothing odd opened up.

I use True Credit. It monitors all 3 and you can update it whenever you want. I have had it for the past 1.5 years. Very user friendly interface.

Hm, I kind of like that.
Unlimited access to ALL THREE of your credit reports and credit scores.
Notification within 24 hours of critical changes to all 3 reports.
Plus, $25K ID Theft Insurance at no additional cost!*
No obligation, cancel anytime.
The question is does it effect anything by having one of these programs going, where you can check this stuff daily?

If you are anal and want to update your score daily you can w/o showing any inquiries on your report. Whenever you run an inquiry on your own credit it is considered a "soft" inquiry meaning it will not affect your score. This also applies when employers check your credit. Now when you apply for any kind of credit than it is considered a "hard" inquiry and will impact your credit score.
Note to self, if you are shopping around for an auto or home loan FICO will see all hard inquiries within a 2 week time frame as 1. For home loans I have heard that all inquiries within a month will be handled as 1 but I would not press my luck.
As far as accessing your report you can do so by logging into their site (www.truecredit.com) and view your report/scores at any time. It also has links to dispute items and so forth. Truecredit btw is run by TransUnion.
If this one doesn't suit your needs than there plenty other sites out there.
