Question $800/month in mutual funds . . .

invested every month for the last 30 years. Did not bat an eye in 1987 or 9/11/01, but now I am not so sure. Is it time to step back?

(2) funds
AMRMX & AEPGX

Make your decision based on your asset allocation and not on what the market did yesterday. If you're reacting to the financial crisis, you're probably too late.

NOT think of selling anything, just putting the $800/month into a insured bank account.

Yes, assuming you don't already have insured accounts into 6 figures.
If you already have insured bank accounts into 6 figures, no- maybe buy into US savings bonds or municipal bonds?

Wow $800/month/ 30 years.
Just keep putting in, you rode through the late 80's and the tech bubble.
Now's the best time to put in more money.
You shouldn't worry too much, by the time you're ready to retire, you'll be set.
