Izzy, you can go to www.Eventful.com and type in Kansas City to see what is going on. Or go to wwwFox4KC.com and click on "What's Happening" to see more! That's what I use myself!

Izzy, also the Country Club Plaza is a must! It's great for dining, shopping, etc... It's a beautiful area of the city. Your wife will love it. Also, the Nelson Art Gallery is outstanding-it's close to the Plaza too. For more shopping, Crown Center is great too.

If you don't mind a little drive, the area out by the Kansas Speedway is great. There is another shopping/dining area around the Speedway called Legends at Village West. There's a lot of great shopping and fun things to do there too. Plus, there is a minor league baseball team there called the T-Bones. I'm not sure if they're playing that weekend or not, but the Royals are. Kaufman Stadium (for the Royals) just went through a $265 million renovation-it is gorgeous. Plus, Arrowhead Stadium sits right next to it. This Truman Sports Complex is the very first in the country to do separate stadiums for baseball and football-it's very cool to see. The Royals will be easy to get a ticket for as well.

Otherwise, Union Station is really cool to see. And for nightlife, definitely the Power & Light District downtown is THE place to go. I've got a cruise and night out for dinner and partying in the P&L District planned for us on Saturday night. But the downtown revival is in full swing, so hanging around there on the weekend will be perfect. Plus, the Sprint Center is right next door to the entire Power & Light District.

How was that????

Guys, please feel free to ask any questions you like. I was born and raised in Kansas City, so I feel like I know this place pretty well.

Plus, on Saturday, you'll be able to hear me on the radio! I'm a disc jockey at the Classic Rock radio station in Kansas City (and also the flagship station for the Kansas City Chiefs). The station is 101 The Fox-it's 101.1 FM, so as you come in to town on Saturday, I'll be on the air from 10am to 3pm. I am Steve Garrett on the air, so don't be fooled by the "professional" name if you decide to listen!

Cruise Details and Link.

Guys,

I hope I'm doing this right...here is the link (I hope) for the cruise route we'll be taking on Saturday night:

http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-Nm*ZVdn8UPHG

I don't use MapQuest very often because I have Nav in my Type S. But I will bring copies of this map along with the directions Saturday night for everyone.

We will meet at the Berbiglia Liquor Store (directly acorss the street from Jay Wolfe Acura) at 6:30PM on Saturday, June 5th. By the time everyone arrives, I thought we would leave as soon as possible and cruise through Kansas City. This is a beautiful route, which takes us down a beautiful parkway (Ward Parkway), throught the ritsy shopping district (the Coutry Club Plaza) it will take us down to the Power & Light District/Sprint Center in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Once we park, we will meet up outside the Sprint Center/College Basketball Experience. At that point, we will walk across the street to the Power & Light District for dinner, drinking and an overall great time!

The P&L District has multiple restaurants and bars. Plus a HUGE open stage area for bands, etc. If there is no band playing, they always have a DJ blasting out tunes. This is an enormous open area where everyone can dance, mingle and party. It's always a great time and a terrific party!

If you have any questions, you can call me on my mobile phone at 913-461-8073.

Guys, my phone number is:

913-461-8073

Give me a call if you need to.

Remember, I've posted details in this thread about the Saturday night Cruise at 6:30 pm. (see Post #55)

Plus, if you're driving in to Kansas City on Saturday afternoon, you can actually listen to me on the radio! Tune your FM radio to 101.1 and you'll hear Steve Garrett (my on-air name) from 10am-3pm! It's a Classic Rock station, so hopefully it won't hurt your ears too much!
