So my transmission went out last week and I am trying to narrow down my decision. I can get a new CL tranny with a 3 yr/ 36000 mile warranty installed for roughly 2500. I also found a 2005 Honda Oddessy tranny with 51000 miles for 950 plus 500-600 for labor. I don't know if the after hours mechanic feels comfortable installing a tranny with parts switched out(Trans range switch, the filter housing, and possibly tapping and drilling holes). Does anyone know a good shop in Cincy, Dayton, or Columbus that has done the swap? I live in the Dayton area so that would be preferable but if I have to tow the car somewhere I will. Or should I go with the new tranny with the warranty? Your feedback and info is much needed and appreciated.
