^ Exactly why i need a break... 18 hrs driving a s/c'ed car... I was contemplating leaving the bypass open and taking the belt and ECU off(addign the rgular size serpentine back on of coarse) so the S/c'ed wont be spinning for the whole time while i CRUISE thru the states... No reason to speed and alot of $$$ reason NOT to speed... would literally take 5 minutes to get the S/c back up... Just a premature thought.

but yeah, do come !!! take a break mid way and you might wanna elongate your breaks in the middle....i usually fill up, take a piss and am on my way.....but you might need to take another 10-15 minutes and leave your hood open which you take the break....no ??

but since you were so worried about driving constantly, i suggested when you take a stop, pop the hood open....open hood cools faster than closed hood....

Supercharger will be fine as it will be in bypass while cruising. There will be some additional heat but not much. Keeping the air moving is the biggest goal.

Engine oil takes the biggest hit during steady state high speed driving but it cools very quickly. You can take your foot off the gas and coast for 15 seconds on a downhill run and it might cool 20 degrees.

For steady state super long drives I would run at least a 30wt. With the added heat, it will be just as thin as a 20wt is in normal conditions so you can run it for hours on end with no worries.

Damn sounds like a good time......How far is Kansas city from St.Louis, MO......I been there and it took me roughly 15-16hours to get there from Boston!! wondering if this is closer than driving to Florida!

 

^^^ STL to KC is 270 miles....speed limit is 70 except @ Columbia which is mid way point...for 8 miles the speed limit drops to 60 and couple places to 55.....

i drive 80 on the highway and take no breaks....hence getting to STL (from KC) in 3 hours and 20 minutes and in exactly 9.5 gallons of gas.....

yes for a year i drove back and forth every weekend !!!
