The thought had occurred to me, but I think he'd be too excited about going to keep it secret.

A native Kc guy, IDK that Ive heard of "Oklahoma Joe's" or if I have, it certainly isnt the place I think of when I think of "Famous KC BBQ" lol.

If we've registered once, is there any need to register again, since the location has changed, or no?

Havent booked a room yet, will on Friday. Hopefully they still have rooms, lol. If not, I'll find one nearby.

Steven, IDK if you remember last year or not, but it seemed, to me, like parking got a little crowded. Especially on the East end of the lot. There were those big tents where that Porsche was parked. Will that be an issue again this year or no? I know they're re-doing the building, just wasnt sure if they were changing the lot as well.

You need to go to Oklahoma Joes your first chance, you will not be disappointed.

As far as parking goes, I have heard we will have more parking this year than last year. Jay Wolfe owns the dealership next door now so I think we can have that lot as well. Maybe try to have the main lot for Acuras and the side lot for the other makes. I am just speculating at this point of course, as I don't know what is going to happen. Steve, what are your thoughts on this?

Agreed as well....if we're truly doing an Acura meet, then the trophies should go to Acuras. Let the other make/models put on their own show!

"Best NON Acura in Show"

all other trophies with mods/sound system/tint/etc should be limited to Acura's

Guys, right now, there are a little over 60 cars registered for the Meet. At this point, there will be no problems with parking cars. I'll talk with Matty Loudness (Jim Mattson from Jay Wolfe Acura). Because of the renovations going on, I don't think the tent will be up this year.

I think we only have one category for Non-Acuras. I'll talk to Buda about that. I have put him in charge of registration and judging.

Jay Wolfe spends quite a lot of money on Trophies and Placques. If we add categories, these might be certificate awards.

^^^ I would really like to see Buda compete as he has put as much effort in his car as any of us....

make him incharge of registrations and let Jay Wolfe decide the judging categories and how the judging should be done. Pretty unfair that he doesnt get to enjoy the meet and just sit inside with a laptop....he needs to get out and tan than pale skin of his....

The cars they USED to make, people are passionate about now. No one wants to be passionate about the cars they make now. They're just hideous.

This.

However its the demographic as well tho. I mean most of the people that can afford 45k+ Acuras are not car enthusiasts. The 3G TL is popular because they are getting cheaper in price and younger folks can afford those. Thats why at the majority of meets there are more 3G's than anything else.

But I agree, Acura needs to step their game up in the design dept.

Dude, you should see my arms. Out of the last 54 days I've worked 32 of them out on the farm. I'm rocking a kick ass farmers tan.

I'd really like to be able to actually see the cars and talk to people this year other than during registration. It's been a few years since I've been able to do that.

I'm fairly certain I will not be letting my car get judged this year for various reasons including that I'm coordinating the judging. If a single person is against me having my car judged, I will ensure it doesn't happen.

I've worked everyday since March and my car has gotten no love this year. She needs a major face lift. This weekend is my last one to have to work on the farm so maybe next weekend I can have a chance to make her shine.

Trophies....
While I played a very large part in determination of the categories, the choice of trophies/plaques for a given category comes down to Jay Wolfe Acura as they are paying for them. I talked with Jim today and he will be getting me a list of what Categories will have Trophies/Plaques. My current knowledge is that only 1 category on Non-Acura only has a trophy and that is Non-Acura Best in Show. The Participants Choice trophies are open to all and this allows Non-Acura's to win as well if you chose to vote for them.

I'll take this feedback for the trophy's/plaques and integrate it in for next year. Unfortunately for this year we are to close to the meet to make changes.

I'm having second thoughts...If there are only going to be 60 cars, I might just save my gas money. I can go to my local Sonic on Thursdays and see a couple hundred kick ass cars if I wanted...

We can do that too, but it isn't everyday you get to see 60+ Acuras. More cars will sign up trust me. A lot of people sign up at the last minute.

Dude, you're over reacting. This happens every year. Many people show up for the meet that don't register with the link provided. We always have a great time and an excellent turnout.

If you don't show up, it's your loss......just sayin'.
