I've never been to this one, but I'm sure it's like most race tracks, if you want to race, you pay the fee as you enter and you race as many times as you can.

Anyone up for this weekend? I couldn't pull lower than a 14.0 last friday even with consistent 2.1 60 foots. My traps were horrible. 96-98mph range.

Then again I did not lower any pressure from tires. Just showed up and ran. May have to reevaluate my mods. Gonna race my friend's RSX this time around.

Horrible track! Avoid this crap hole at all costs. I paid. Got techd...then bam...the line was huge. No movement. I went back to get my money.nada...which was a surprise to me since the lady told me to come back as i paid...stating there was long line. They lied about giving my money back...forget this place.

Its hard to get runs in there as late as you went. If you want to get more than one run in you have to get there when they open ~5PM and no later than 8PM. When I go and get there at 5, I could get 6-8 runs in within an hour-two hours time.

Most tracks are that way. Some people drive 3 hours to a track to get 2 runs in.

I would have been fine with one run, but the fact the people that took my money didn't tell me (or didn't know) that the track was jacked up (they got on the loud speaker while I was up there after getting tech'd).

Yeah, guess I'm spoiled. I lived in San Antonio and only drove 30 minutes and could get there at 9pm and get a few runs...and it got packed.

I was just blown away that no one was moving. I wasn't the only one pissed, lol...some guy that I asked what was going on said something was wrong with the track and hadn't moved for an hour! If they hadn't move in an hour, they should have told the people taking the money to stop taking people, lol...horrible communication. The guy I spoke to about the track being messed up mention something like "MIR" and that it was a better track, he stormed off pretty pissed...just before I did.

Ah, here's that track he mentioned. I'm going to try this out this four day weekend...if I'm still in town (might go to chicago) and hopefully it doesn't rain.

It is only an hour and half away, not bad...imo.

They have test/tune on Monday http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/schedule/c...9/12-09-03.htm

MIR aka Maryland International Raceway is a world renowned track. Its a VERY good track and the quality of it is great. With that said, it gets VERY packed. Other times I've been it hasn't been too bad though. They have hosted the shows on Speed Network often there

In regard to why noone was moving, one of two things probably happened (which happens often at Capitol) Either 1. some douchebag blew their motor on the track and spilled oil all over it (most likely scenario) because they would have to remove the debris, clean the track, and then dry the track and retreat it for racing. OR 2. they were running competitions and bikes (least likely scenario.

I thought it may have been something like a blown motor that spilled oil..that's what it sounded like. They got on the mic asking for anyone that had something (can't remember what they called it), but it sounded like something to clean up the track...so it must have pretty severe that they had to stoop to asking their own customers to help, lol...maybe a car just blew the f-up.

Yea thats pretty odd they're asking customers for clean up stuff. Maybe the quality of the service and track team has gone down since I last went. Luckily noone was hurt. It really pisses me off when people take their untuned or un-trackready cars up to the track and ruin everyone else fun because of their stupidity.
