if you want you can cover the alternator.
i used kitchen degreaser so that I didnt have to buy any.

remember to spray the tire dressing, or else it leave white marks everywhere

you'll probably need more than one bucket of water.
but if you can spray some degreaser on the engine bay and then just use the bucket of water.

you dont have to cover the battery, alternator and fuse box but just becareful

Leo, THis is what i do.

spray the engine with water, to get everything wet. Pay attention to battery, alternator and fuse box.

Once everything is wet, i use a degreaser. It doesnt have to be car specific. I use my moms kitchen cleaner. It says degreaser on the bottle. Its a spray bottle. I spray everything down. I then use a brush to scrub the degreaser and get the dirt.
    then spray down with hose.
here's a neat trick. The degreaser will leave white spots EVERYWHERE. use tire shine on all the black plastic and rubber. it will make the engine look very nice

Leo, i suggest either the valentine 1 or the Escort 9500ix.
both are top of the line and will cost a pretty penny, like around $400.
if you could find one used in great condition, it would be worth it

wait i just read that your under warranty? If so, its muuuuch easier to let the dealer do it. and if they screw it up, it's they're problem.
