How bad is the tranny? Is it safe to be driven around?

The only thing i can tell you is that its drivable just until the check engine comes on, i think thats the point the computer prevents the tranny from taking any further damage.

Is your name Mark? I see this car listed on Autotrader.com for $10499.00. its the same VIN and has the same photos. I spoke with a Mark today and he never mentioned an accident, although he did tell me about the transmission (which I think is classified as a mechanical problem last I checked). He also said he put a lot of work into it. I am kind of curious because the price went up from $8000 when it had 82000 miles on it, to 10499 in 7 months. Let me know. I was very interested in this vehicle and had an appointment on Saturday to see it but I am not sure what to do now. I am wondering just what else I am not being told.
