Its the famous swap completed.

MOD EDIT: The VIN posted above is incorrect (Seems like letters need to be all upper case)

Corrected VIN:

Please post a valid VIN.

And a lot more pictures of the car, showing each side and front and back and more interior pictures.

My 3rd pic stopped progress at 90%. The car is pretty clean inside. What's wrong with the vin?

Can I post Imgur links?

When you click on the VIN, the VIN decoder says This VIN does not appear to be valid

Pretty clean is a subjective term which is why we need pictures. I don't see why you couldn't use imgur, but if you click on the picture icon next to the smilie face in the edit bar above you can load the pictures directly.

Thanks for the pictures.

Cool car. who did the swap? how many miles since it was done? when was timing belt service last performed? oem clutch? any leaks?

crustyneon 02-11-2019 10:28 AM

I did the swap. New luk clutch and flywheel. No leaks. Drove about 2000 miles after completing the swap. Timing belt was supposedly done 3000 miles ago. The sad part follows after I passed emissions and started really driving the car. During the first 1000 miles it was throwing a misfire code every couple of weeks. 1000 more miles it's misfires on all cylinders and rough idle. After a couple of tests I came to the conclusion that the previous owner of the engine money shifted it and it took a couple of thousand of miles for the problem to fully develop. I did a valve adjustment twice and put oil in the worst cylinder to do compression test again and the pressure only rose 20 psi. I have a donor auto engine with good heads but I don't have any more time to mess with this in the near future.
Compression test (psi)
1-150
2-155
3-185
4-178
5-125
6-60

Here's the information on how to make changes to your posts in the Marketplace.

General editing information:

You are able to edit your post for 15 minutes after the post was submitted.

After that, please post all replies, price updates, changes, pictures, sold or request to close, etc. in the thread, and if the information justifies an update I will take the necessary action. Due to the Marketplace format, pictures cannot be moved to the first post so will have to remain where posted.

Please do not send a PM unless you think I missed something, or it is of a personal nature. Also, do not submit a Bad Post Report or click on the "Contact Us" button.

INDIVIDUAL SOLD ITEMS, PRICE CHANGES, OR UPDATES, IN MULTIPLE ITEM THREADS: Sorry, I don't mark individual items as sold, or remove them, or that they are no longer needed, or remove pictures, or change individual prices, or update the first post, due to the workload. If I do it for one person I would have to do it for everyone.

If you did the swap, how could the previous owner have money shifted it?

Glad i wasn't the only one that caught that..

It always had codes for misfires on all cylinders coming up every week ever since I put the engine in. The more I drove it the quicker they popped up. I didn't drive it that long but it got progressively worse and worse as time went on. It definitely looks like I fudged the car up but I'm thinking it was a hack timing belt job from the previous owner.
