Pre purchase information

I am new to this forum, and don’t yet have an RSX, but it interest in purchasing a used one. I have not been able to find information that I am looking for, and thought this might be the right place.

I intend to purchase the non S type, with leather (Premium?), automatic. Taking price, mileage and condition into consideration, I cannot find the differences between model years to also take into consideration. 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006.

have you ever heard of the saying "dont buy a first year model?"

yeah, i think you should cross the 2002 and maybe the 03 off your list.
not saying they have problems, but usually it takes a few years to work out all the kinks in a vehicle.
plus, the 02 is about 12 years old now and probably ragged out with high mileage.

If i were looking for an RSX right now, I'd choose the latest year available.
that would be the 2006.

I think all the base RSX's are the same engine/performance wise. It uses the k24a3 with like 160 or so bhp.
02-04 look the same. 05-06 have a revised front and rear.
Which one you should buy depends entirely on your personal preference of looks and mileage/price. Newer and lower mileage will cost more.

Where do you live? I'm selling my 2005 RSX base in the next several months. High mileage (187,000), but runs beautifully and I've put in A LOT of work into it the past year in order to prepare for sale. I have kept most of the receipts for proof of what has been done. This past weekend I put on 4 new rotors and brakes and 3 weeks ago put on new tires (which have a 40,000 mile warranty on them). New spark plugs put in about 5000 miles ago. All fluids and filters are set. Fuel Injection service was done recently too since my mpgs dropped from the normal 31 hwy to about 28 hwy (yes I know it's petty). Mileage is back to normal now. If interested I can provide you with more details. It's Magnesium Metal exterior, titanium leather interior. Rear spoiler, sunroof, CD/am/fm. I have a Sirius Radio hookup in there too, which I could leave in. There are some scratches on the front bumper, pretty minor. Leather on the front seats are in pretty good condition, no rips.

Honestly, I have thought about keeping it since I can probably get another 100k+ miles out of it, but getting married and expecting kids not too far down the road, it's time to upgrade to a 4 door :what: She's an awesome awesome vehicle and have been blessed to have pretty much zero issues KNOCK ON WOOD through all 187k+ miles. Acura/Honda builds vehicles that just keep going it seems.

I'm in New Jersey if you want to message me.
