Talking 2015 Acura ILX- New wheels question

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good tire/rim size to fill in the gap for my ILX, currently it has stock 215/45/17 and there is a major gap. I do not want to lower my car at all but want it to kind of look that way by filling in that gap to the fender. However I also do not want to have to roll my fenders. If anyone has been through this situation or believes they know a good size please let me know,

Anything helps, Thank you

I would shop around for an 18 in wheel. IMO anything bigger looks off. Nothing will fill in the gap like lowering your car but a larger diameter wheel will help. Keep in mind the over all car will sit higher as a result. i suggest using this site to help calculate what you are looking to do. https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

please do not use tires to fill in the gap!
tires will have to remain stock diameter or as close to it as possible !!

I enjoy this tire calculator
https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire...ator/275-55R20
https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

the proper way to eliminate wheel gap is to lower the car.
a larger in diameter wheel will help, only a little bit

Just call it a gasser and don't worry about the gap.
Wheel gap is like cleavage, I find it acceptable. Just don't remove the wheel center cap, that's like showing nipples.

I experiment. Nothing beats real world trial!
So … I autocross with Federal RS-RR’s 245/40/18 25.72” tall 9.65” wide with ever so slight rub on big dips. Fills gap nicely and looks awesome.
So, if you want zero issues I would suggest consider 235-40-18 = 25.40” tall ... which is what the current Gen X Si is running.
Hint - You might even find a set of stock Si / Civic sport wheels with tires cheap.

Oh, PS. those are on 18X8 +35 offset rims.

If you want to drop tires on stock ILX rims … go 235-45-17 = 25.33" tall ( your stock 215/45/17: H = 24.62” )

Just fine .. My General rule on stock suspensions don't go over 1" taller and you'll be fine. (It's similar to doing a 1" drop)
