Push to Start/Stop button not working correctly

A few days ago, I had a remote car starter installed by a local shop. The installer said I was all set and I left the garage. When I pulled into my driveway I went to turn off my car and pressed the push to stop button. The button flashed green 3 times and the car did not shut off. The only way I could turn off the car was to press the button 3 times fast or hold the button in for 5 seconds. When I contacted the installer he said that it was because my battery is bad and there was not enough power for both the remote starter and push to stop button to work. I then had my battery tested at autozone and sure enough, the battery was bad so I had it replaced. The button still does not work properly. Does anyone have any idea why or what the installer would have done to the car to make this happen? Thanks!

I’d take it back to the installer if you haven’t already.

Replacing the battery was prob a good idea if it’s the original one from 2013.

If you can turn off the car by holding it for 5 secs, that still better then not able to turn it off at all.

Can you fire it up if you push start with out any problems?

I brought it back to him and he keeps giving me the run around about it. I’m supposed to take it back Thursday and go from there. Starting the car is no issue just turning it off

The installer obviously screwed something up. Perhaps you can request he uninstall the system entirely and return everything to the way it is. I wouldn't tolerate this situation for my own car.

I would make sure that he fixes it or have him uninstall it and get your money back. That is absurd...doesn't sound like a very professional business.

Might be a stupid question and I'm late to the party but any chance they were able to incorporate it into an existing FOB? I like the idea of remote start but not toting around two separate FOBs.

Acura has remote start accessory which gives you a new fob that looks factory but has the remote start buttons on it.
