intermittent grinding sound when braking

hi,
my acura ilx 2013 dynamic manual 6 speed recently developed an intermittent grinding sound coming from the rear wheels when braking at very low speed. i'm wondering what could be the cause of this. the brake pads are not new but moderately used at this point. any advice would be appreciated and thx in advance.

the only way you'll find out is to take a gander at the braking setup...
take a weekend to inspect and investigate....it could be the pads, it could be the parking brake...they could be dragging.
or you may find that the pads are eating the rotor.
who really knows until you go in and check things out, because no one on the internet will be able to tell you without actually digging in

found the problem while inspecting the brakes. one disc rotor got warped and needs to be replaced.
