2014 ILX - Radio Swap?
Hello all,
Just got a certified pre-owned 2014 ILX Base model in April. Please...please....please tell me there's an after market radio kit?
Can I at least grab a 2014 tech package/nav radio off eBay and swap out the stereo head unit?
Been searching for 6 months on how to do this.......

For swapping oem radio units for the ones with navi, there's few people done this to their 9th gen civic, I'm sure you can find enough information to do it on the ilx, it seems like a lot of work.
I've seriously considered doing it until I found out even the new ilx's don't come with andriod auto.

I need help understanding which radio I have. I have a base model 2.0 with Premium Sound System.
Is this the same as the ELS 10 speaker system?
Im asking because I just noticed the spec sheet paper that came on my car (whatever its called....it's on the window of each car at the dealership)
Anyways....that sheet says: ACURA/ELS Surround Sound and it also list SiriusXM Satellite.
Problem is, I dont have XM Satellite in my car like it says it does on the spec sheet with my VIN number listed.
What should I do?

I'm pretty sure you do NOT have the ELS system. That was reserved only for the higher trim levels. Another way to easily check is, do you have 10 speakers?

Don't forget to count the tweeters as a speaker haha! Your in luck if it's not the ELS system though as aftermarket possibilities are available.

So you bought a 2014 ILX, decided afterwards that the radio is not good enough, then traded it in for a top spec TLX? Seems like a pricey way to go. You can also trade in that TLX for a top spec RLX and get the Krell system which is even better.

I had the ILX for a year. Meaning I STILL had 4 more years to pay it off. That's long enough to give it a chance and decide if it will be a good vehicle for me long term. To answer your question, the stereo was a thumbs down, but only played a piece in my overall decision. It's just not a comfortable vehicle all together. And Im a only a 5'4" girl. I drove with seat back as far as would go and wished it would go back a little further. That car is unusually snug and uncomfortable and I didnt like they way it handles and responds to simple maneuvers. There were a few reasons for my decision.
I traded for a 2015 TLX. Not a new one.
Long term, the TLX would be much better. I keep cars until the wheels almost fall off. Kept last car for 14 years.
