hi, noticed that there is rather limited info available in this forum on ilx versus tl, tlx and rdx models.
any logic to this?

there was also LESS ILX's sold.....
there was like three or four times more TLX' sold than ILX....

pretty basic math
if there are 8 iphones and only 2 android phones....which phone would be talked about more?

well, i drive an ilx dynamic manual and it's a pleasure to drive, not to mention low fuel consumption (6.2l/100kms) on freeway... but have noticed a whining sound when shifting to the 1st gear, lasting only for a second or two, perhaps when turning or on an uphill...as it happens only when changing gears i'm guessing... what could it be, clutch, synchro...and it happens rarely, perhaps once or twice a day...but making me nervous.

it shouldnt make you nervous.

if it's a throw out bearing, get the throw out bearing replaced.

It just didn't sell as many units as the other models... so the forum is less busy since it's less popular.

Have you checked the model specific forum for the ILX? The users that are there are pretty knowledgeable...

Sounds like you're saying you're shifting into 1st while moving, odds are it's the synchros & likely normal.

i checked one, acurailx.com, with a rather limited knowledge base...any others out there on the acura ilx models?

feels like it happens when releasing the clutch in the 1st gear and accelerating ... will try to downshift from the 2nd, that would prove it's a synchro, i guess
