Performance chips?

Has anyone tried one on their ILX? If so what kind? Was it hard to install? How much? How much horsepower did you gain? MPG? Sorry if this is a repeat post...

there is no simple performance chip.
if there were; every one would have one.

To understand how chips and flashes work, you'll need to have a basic understanding of how an engine works.

basically, an engine is one big giant air pump.
it needs fuel and a source of ignition.

the idea of changing engine parameters is awesome because this improves power and fuel efficiency.

there is only one product that can change engine parameters.
and that is the Hondata flashpro.
this reflashes the engine's parameters to a more aggressive tune.
I believe it's only for a certain year and engine.
so, if you dont have the 2.4l engine in that specific year range, you're out of luck

As Justin said minus the last few lines.
There are a couple other tuning options available. KTuner is one.

Also KTuner has plans to release an R20 tuning option now that they have their R18 option available.

Hondata may follow but we'll see.
Hondata does have a flashpro for the K24 already though as Justin said.

I have the base model which I think is the 2.0 4 cyl...2015 year. I was curious if it was possible to beef it up a little and that's if I decided to keep it. I've seen some little gadgets that you wired in to ports and didn't know if those things actually work...

Basically the only ones that work cost several hundred dollars. So if you are looking at some random thing online thats like a couple hundred bucks or cheaper - STAY AWAY. Also they have to be programmed/tuned - by a tuner. You can do an e-tune, thats not a bad option. If you are serious about it, you have a base model 2.0 auto, so I would say wait on the Ktuner and see what happens.
