Cool Injen intake for our cars

So guys, I got some good news for all of you. Injen will be making an intake for our cars, I'm not sure if it will be a cold air or regular short ram but they will be making something. The reason I know is because I was asked by an injen developer to use my car for "intake development" and for you guys that don't believe me ill attach a screenshot for proof.

Nice, do you have the 2.0 or the 2.4?

I'm gonna switch up the trans fluid. I feel like the trans gets notchy after extended use.

It shows true gains for all the 2012 Civic Si owners, don't see why our car would be different. Some guy posted up a pretty consistent gain of like 7+WHP and 6+TQ all across the powerband. Best selling point though for me is making the motor sound more throaty and getting extra throttle response

Lol, what? I'm saying he needs to make an appointment with Injen to test fit the intake onto the ILX. I'm aware of the gains, I follow the 9thcivic forums closely.

I misread your post, I thought you thought I was suggesting that the ilx would react differently from the Si. All good

Called Injen today, they said they are still looking for an ILX for them to use to fit an intake. I'm in Toronto so it's a bit of a drive to Cali. Any other ILX brethren in the cali area?

I'm thinking of just ordering one already. I still can't see that much of a difference between our cars and the SI. I'll take pics and post up a little DIY if i hit a few snags and make any modifications.

Or i'll check my local tuner shop to see if they have any in hand and see if they want to check if it'll work first. Can't hurt to just ask and see. They also have a dyno too.

stopping by tomorrow. They do have an 06-09 injen intake in stock.... but not one for the newer gen. I'll order one through them either way.

The guys on the 9th forums were having issues with the injen intake. Apparently it grabs air from behind the radiator, which affects IATs. I'd wait a little before pulling the trigger.

Since the shop does have a dyno, and stock injen intakes, i just wanted to throw it on and run some tests. If there are any problems, I would just take it off and pay any restocking fees. I'm about to head over now.

Not sure how much of a gain, if any, you'll see without tuning for the intake. Also, will you be able to record iats to ensure that the car is getting cooler air?

i dont know. I'll ask for all that. And its not a huge deal for me. I just want to see if it works or not.. It's gotta have at least a little gain for now. I do want to tune it to. I'll ask the tuner.

Is there any reason why other intakes for the civic si Wouldnt work?

Same engine isn't it?

Was thinking of getting this:
http://www.aj-racing.com/shop/produc...2&cat=0&page=5

Had it on my 06 civic Si and it was an awesome sounding/looking/performance intake.

^the 06 intake box has different mounting points / dimensions. I don't think that'll fit...actually pretty sure of it.

um. the 2012 si intake configuration seem to be different from our ILX. We took the intake box out.. and it seems like the mounting points are off and the pipes dont have the right angles it seems. it seems to rub/hit against everything in the engine bay no matter how we try to angle the piping.. wasted effort. What makes our engine bay so different from the SI? I'm guessing Injen shaped the piping to fit under the cabin forward design of the SI? i think our engine sits further up and the battery, strut towers get in the way..

Anyways, I will come back with pics, and then fabricate our own since we have a welder, piping, and extra intake cones. Try to direct it into the fender well behind the fogs area and do some dyno runs.

CT-engineering will be releasing one pretty soon, I'm sure. Especially since their s/c kit comes out in march.

LOL they keep saying that.. I don't think they know when.. but their intake looks solid.. it reminds me of the K&N intake which is nice.
