How much I paid

So im getting a 2016 ilx tech plus for 29,198 before tax and title. I was looking to add a spoiler, tinting, wheel locks, and all weather floor mats for the lowest price. There are several dealers in my area so I called around. Initially i got a deal for 30,539 again before tax and title but i was thinking i could get a lower price. Finally after a lot of negotiating (took about 2 hours) i got the price i said above. Spoiler and tint were free! Only charged for the floor mats and wheel locks i think i got a great price how much did you pay?

[I]This is the tech plus package tan interior. Planning on putting some black rims on it within a year any suggestions on where I could get them and and what price I should go for? Thanks

I got a loaded A-Spec with Tech plus for a little above $31k. You can do better my friend.

Forgot to add my price was before tax, title, and additions. I also put a $12K trade-in down.

Hmm, I thought I got a good deal on my 2016 Acura ILX Tech Plus for $31K before tax. Asking price was at $34.5K. Looking at truecar at the time, the best someone bought the car for in the area was $31.5K, so I was happy to have walked out with that deal. Knowing now, I should have tried harder, cause the dealership agreed to the price fairly quickly.

Sorry for the double post, looks like prices have dropped drastically since I bought the car. I bought the car first few days of April.

Opps, I apologize, had the wrong model, the tech plus still averages around my purchase price of 31K.

Edmunds.com is your friend. plus, buying at the end of the month works wonders. I can't tell you how much money I saved on LoJack, Extended Warranty, Paint Protection, etc. The deal was nuts lol

Truecar pricing sucks, IMO. They're like a slightly better version of Carmax. If you suck at negotiating or doing your pricing research, then use them.

You have to understand their business model. Dealers will only partner with them as long as the selling price ensures the dealer a nice profit.

Nice profit + little work (i.e. no negotiations) + no wasted time = win.

Dealers need to make a nice profit because they have to pay Truecar a $300 (new car) or $400 (used car) referral fee for each car sold. If dealers don't make a nice profit, it'd be pointless to also pay out referral fees.

IPO-Bound TrueCar's Business Model - Businessweek

For dealerships, TrueCar offers a good way to reach potential customers and manage inventory. For buyers, it offers some transparency and an end run around negotiating, even if the final prices aren’t always as low as absolutely possible.

But TrueCar is walking a fine line. If dealerships don’t make some money off of TrueCar browsers, they won’t keep pushing vehicles onto the platform. Indeed, at the end of 2011, roughly one-third of TrueCar dealers split because they thought the service was too much of a threat to their business model.

For $31K you could have gotten more accessories which in turn, when you look at it, is a better deal. That was my point. I would have tried to get your car for cheaper than $29K. That's just me though.
