Handsfree calling/Bluetooth crappy call quality

Has anyone else had experience with terrible Bluetooth/handsfree call quality? The voice coming into the car sounds fine, but I've been told by multiple callers that the my voice on the other line sounds very bad (they say it sounds fine on when i switch to phone/off handsfree). I'm wondering if the microphone in the car is just crap or if there's a fixable problem. Thanks!

Direct your voice towards the mic (above the rear view mirror). IMO, this is no better or worse than the '08 TSX or '11 CR-Z we own/owned.

I haven't had any problems have you tested it? Call someone's phone and go listen while they talk and verify that people aren't just being picky? Or like others have said trying increasing your volume. My opinion is its no better or worse than any of the other BT cars I've owned

Some guys on the civic forums have / had the issue. It was the microphone. Definitely test it. I've always had an issue with mine, but, it should be said, I never had an issue in my 2012 tsx. I could speak in a nice civil tone (even while driving) on my tsx and still be heard, not so with the ilx. Worse still, lately, my phone has been really crackly over bluetooth, so I've disconnected it entirely and just talk to people using my speakerphone function on the phone itself

Compared to my old IS250, I do feel like I have to yell at the mic to be heard.

Not sure if this helps, but when a family member test drove the ILX the sales person was showing them how to use the Handsfree calling/Voice Commands, he said if the vent is on then to angle the vents lower.
