Joining the RL and TL, the ILX will be release in China. It will be offered initially only as a hybrid with clear corner front headlights, headlight washers, and modified tail lights. In addition, it will also get side mirrors with turn signal indicators.

Why can't we get those features? I don't care much for headlight washers, but turn signals on the mirrors would be nice.

 

Yeah I'm trying to find a better pic that I saw once before, but I like the Chinese taillights. The bottom half of the light has an amber section.

 

Does it have park assist sensors in the back also?

 

Kind of pointless when you have a rearview camera, imo.

Considering that this Chinese ILX costs 328,000 RMB. 6.23 RMB = $1. It'll cost around $52,000! It'd better have some extras!

Its going to be tough going competing against the Buick Excelle (a Daewoo, Astra, Verano mash-up) which was the best selling car in China for 2011 (Chinese people have a weird affinity for Buicks harking back to Dick Nixon's Buick when he visited)...

 

Well, you know.. I still want those extras! GIMME CLEAR CORNERS, GIMME TURN INDICATORS!!! MOAAAAAAAR

 

High price is due to the high tariff. Most cars built overseas are taxed at nearly 100% of their value upon entry into the country.

You would think that Acura would be able to save some money by making all of these parts consistent across their different markets.

 

Do the taillights and reflectors look significantly darker.. or is it my crummy work monitor?

 

I've always suspected that the slight indentation on the inside of the mirror housing was the future location of the side marker lights.

And you can get them at any US Acura dealer...they are simply the 2G TSX mirrors (while our ILX gets the 8G Accord mirrors...who knows why Acura did this )

I like the shape of the mirrors we got more. Regardless of no turn signal.
