I've been reading that the 58" and 65" tvs didn't have the black level issues as the smaller models did. Plus the ones manufactured later in the year also didn't experience the problem.

And it sounds like the class action against Panasonic is going to happen so even if I did have the problem, it might be fixed under warranty.

The G25 is the newer model. It's still up in the air if they will experience the same issue.

Just can't decide which to go with.

Obviously the price is virtually a wash
TC-P58V10: $1600 shipped
TC-P54G25: $1500 shipped

Really thinking I'll just go for the G25. I always look to get the latest model of whatever I buy.

After living with my 42" for a few years I say get the biggest one that you can stand. If the 65" won't take over the room, go for it.

Gonna get the 58V10.

I can't see many differences between the two...in fact the V has a few features that the G doesn't (hence the model designation).

After all size does matter.

This.

I went from 52" to 65" in my living room and am very happy I did. If there was a reasonably priced plasma bigger than 65", I would've gotten that.

Good choice.

I had the same dilemma and went for the V10 as well.

TV is being delivered Saturday. woot: Went with the TC-P58V10.

Ended up getting it for $1775 from Elecrtonics Expo. Since we're in PA and they're in Jersey we paid $100 shipping but didn't have to pay sales tax which would have been a little more. That way if it arrives DOA it's their problem not mine.

sweet! I just ordered a 60" LG Plasma from them for $1325 and 9 in wall speakers and a subwoofer. I went with their shipping option too. It was cheaper than paying sales tax.
