Wireless keyboard for family room TV

Hey all
I have a 2 year old P4 laptop that I hardly use anymore since I have my iBook and lately have been hooking it up to my LCD in the family room to watch stuff that's on it or listen to music. I have it tucked away in the cabinet and would love to get a wireless keyboard with a mouse built into it to surf the web and stuff. I have seen a few of them and really like the one for windows media center (Microsoft Media Center ZV1-00004) but i don't have that on my XP computer. I have no idea about media center since I have been emerged in my Mac world lately but should I got this route and what do I need? I also saw the keyboard pictured below (Logitech diNovo Edge 967685-0403) which looks cool but it seems bluetooth keyboards eat batteries so quickly.

Basically I just want to surf the web and access my itunes library from my couch but if I could use the computer for more (such as replacing my tivo so i could move that somewhere else) that would be great. Any insight on this and any recommendations?

Heres the keyboard i like but the media center one looks way better and says it can control your TV. Only problem with that is it says i need a receiver included in the Windows Media Center Pack.

From what I know you cannot purchase windows media center.. and I've tried to find a working copy, but to no avail.. I am in the same position as you, but I picked up a wireless keyboard/mouse off woot.com for $30/40.

Sounds like you want to get into Home Theater PC stuff.

Here is a great resource to learn all about it:
