Resetting doesn't work because I have slow boxes too. However I have an HR22 which I think was known to be slow. I believe your HR23 is superior in the speed dept.

Yeah I'd get FIOS too because they're PQ is the best since they don't cut bandwith like their competitors. But it's not offered here. Even UVerse has more channels and a network DVR option but that whole thing of X amount of HD streams and SD streams at the same time turned me off plus I heard the PQ sucks. Comcast down here is just God awful. They have like 30% of what D* offers. Dish I heard is better except for PQ so I might weigh my options when my contract is up.

Maybe it's different v HR22/HR23, but it's worked for me.

They reset themselves all of the time. Last night second night in a row, box in bedroom just stopped working at 1:40am, second night in a row, SAME TIME. Picture froze, box shut off and rebooted. Had to wait five minutes for it to search and rebuild guide.

You've got some issues, but I bet you knew that already.

I have always had issues with DTV, I have them for eight years. After about two years the box in the bedroom would reboot every night about 3:15am, I could figure it out for about a week what was going on. When I did they sent me a new box, it did the same thing, they sent me another box did the same. I hook up a old SD box, NO problems, hook back up the HD box again reboot 3:15am. It was something with their main frame trying to schedule upgrades to HD boxes. They never fussed up, but I found it was a problem with a lot of peoples boxes, a certain model number.

A couple years ago they upgraded software for the HD boxes, it knocked my HDMI out, it would block the signal to the TV with the HDMI cable from the box. A noticed came up saying it was illegal to try and use it. I had to got back to component cables. Again a problem many customers had to deal with it. It took them eight months to rewrite software upgrade.
