Best place to buy flat screen and what kind?
What are the most competitive pricing places to purchase a flat screen? Is best buy the most competitive? I'd like to stay away from online purchasing.
Also, I'm looking between a 42"-50" for my living room. In your opinion, what are the better models to choose from and stay away from? Thanks in advance |
bought my 52' Samsung LN52B650 at sears,
crutchfield has very good service and free white glove delivery the VIZIO VF550XVT 55" is a very nice lcd too |
Amazon seems to have pretty good pricing a lot of the time.
Brand/kind? Samsung LCD /thread :2cents: |
Brand isn't a major point unless it's a piece with bad reviews. I have a smaller Vizio and am happy with it. Don't know how the bigger ones hold up though.

I bought my Pioneer plasma from Invision, which is (was?) a sponsor on the AVS forum. Roman has a great reputation on the board, and I got a great price.

Out of these selections, which would you choose? I am going to be purchasing from Sam's Club and these are within range. Thanks!
1. 47" Vizio XVT LCD 1080p HDTV w/ 120Hz - Model: SV47OXVT1A - $1048 2. 46" Samsung LCD 1080p HDTV - Model: LN46B610 - 120Hz - $1397 3. 46" Sony BraviaŽ VL Series 1080p LCD TV - Model: KDL46VL160 - $1397 4. 52" Philips HD LCD 1080P, 4 HDMI - #734821 - $1298 5. 50" Panasonic VIERA Plasma 1080p HDTV - Model: TC-50PS14 - 600Hz - $1298 |
If you know any other tv's between 46"-52" that are within these ranges that you think are better, I am open to them as well. TV has to be black and will be wall mounted.
Thanks |
Sony Bravia, but ONLY the XBR series :2cents:

I've had good luck with the Samsung TVs, they seem to have the best overall picture IMO. :2cents:

Can anyone tell me the difference between Hz? The lower or higher is the better?

Did you check Compusa. They have the 42" Panasonic g10 plasma for $1000 and the 46" g10 for $1200.00
|
I went and bought a 52" Phillips LCD. I liked the color alot better. I'll give the specifics later.
|
6ave has some good prices. Phillips is good for the price but the quality isnt so good. They have a lot of refurb tv on their outlet. Hope you like your set.
|
It looked a hell of a lot more attractive than the Panasonic I was interested in. I liked this 50" Sony, but it was $400 more. I'm happy, I'll deal.
