Well... house is officially on the market! **Update Pg 6 - Garage Plans uploaded **

lol... we tried to keep the gate neutral, so as not to personalize it too much. So we kept that in mind when we had it made. That way, it would work for anyone, be it us, or someone else 30 years down the road...
Thanks for the comments. Have to start working on before/after pics so you can see everything side by side. It's coming along and I think we decided on an architect so we'll see where this garage ends up going...

Got some scans of the garage plans. Waiting on a bid to come back which we are expecting by the end of this week. Sure it won't be cheap .
First pic shows the front elevation of the house as it stands now, then the elevation of the house with the garage. We wanted the garage to look like it was a part of the house design and not an after-thought... and the architect did a FANTASTIC job of mirroring the lines and details of the home.
Next pic shows the floorplan of the garage. It will appear to be a 3 car from the front, but the middle bay is a tandum, so it will be a 4th car garage. I have made a change in that the door on the right of the bumped out bay will now be an access door (likely two large french doors) which will allow me to get my motorcycle, quad, mower, golf cart, or whatever else we put back there. We will not be able to fit a car around to that side due to the width of the garage, but we will be able to get by with other motorized vehicles, so I that's why I think it will make more sense to have double doors there. You can also see how he tied the garage to the house where again, he exceeded our expectations.
Last pic shows the space above the garage. With just about zero storage in the house, it was important to have that here. He did another great job of putting the living space in a spot where it will maximize views and feel like a tree house while giving us plenty of storage. The separate entrances was his idea as well.
Now the main factor is the bid. Once we have that we'll be able to budget and decide when to begin

Thanks all
We are having it bid out with the upstairs finished, and also unfinished. We are about 90% sure we will not finish it right away. We do not NEED a guest suite up there as we have two upstairs bedrooms in the house, each with their own baths, so guests can (and have been) use that for now anyway. So we'll likely hold off on finishing out the top of the garage except for separating the living area from the storage area since we really need storage. Moving everything from storage to the garage when complete will save us ~$250/mo in storage fees, so that will be nice
